Our Story

Hey there, welcome to Dacaboutit! Because we're all about talking about DACA things that aren't usually talked about. We're Ari and Sahian, two first-generation immigrants and DACA recipients, and we're so glad you're here.

We've both walked unique paths, from navigating different school systems to earning degrees like General & Forensic Psychology for Ari, and Marketing & Business Administration for Sahian. Professionally, our journeys have taken us through diverse fields including education, HR, business operations in tech, non-profit, sales, and health care.

Beyond the professional grind, we're also just two people who get it. Ari grew up as an only child with a single mom, while Sahian has a younger sister and grew up with both parents. And hey, if you're like us, you probably spend your downtime binging shows like 'The Office' (a shared favorite!) or debating whether tacos or sushi wins the favorite food award.

These varied experiences have given us unique perspectives on the DACA experience, the undocumented journey, and the transition to permanent residency. This blog is our platform to be a voice for folks who might feel like they can't—or are just plain scared to—share their own stories. We'll be diving deep into what it's really like to navigate these paths.

Our main goal? To inspire, inform, and give you some comfort and perspective through our own personal ups and downs. We get that this stuff can be tough, but you won't find any "pity parties" here. We're all about celebrating the strength, resilience, and hope that define our journeys.

When you hang out with us, we want you to walk away feeling empowered, totally informed, and maybe even a little motivated to speak up yourself. So, start following along, and let's build this community together.
